GM faces ongoing Ultium technology-related battery production delays slowing EV output

Supply and manufacturing issues hav continue to put the squeeze on GM’s Ultium battery-employing EV production levels

The OEMs Cadillac Lyriq and BrightDrop van manufacturing levels continue to be impacted due to battery module assembly issues.

The carmaker’s luxury SUV Cadillac Lyriq model was said to be the hardest hit, but its Brightdrop vans are also impacted by the production issues. Both the BrightDrop vans and the Cadillac Lyriq use GM’s new Ultium battery technology and represent GM’s push towards electrification in both the luxury and commercial sectors.
