Finland - The contract manufacturer is celebrating its 50th anniversary at all its facilities. It currently produces vehicles for several companies, including Daimler, BMW and Porsche.

"Already for five decades, we have demonstrated that our work, know-how and engineering skills are world class," commented Olaf Bongwald, CEO, Valmet Automotive. "We expect our growth to continue as the technological change in which the whole automotive industry now finds itself offers us great opportunities in both engineering and manufacturing operations."

Today, Valmet operates in four European countries and employs around 6,000 workers. Last year at its plant in Uusikaupunki, Finland, it produced 90,000 vehicles, making it one of the largest exporter in the country.

The company has also recently started making the fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class at the Uusikaupunki plant, and appointed Bongwald as CEO back in July.
