Profil has added the REN nut to its range of high-strength pierce and clinch fastening products. Developed to provide exceptional torque and pull through performance in panels up to 9mm thick, the new fastener is ideal for applications subject to intense dynamic, static and shock loading, such as those found in vehicle chassis and suspension assemblies. It is available with M8-M16 threads and is equally suitable for plain or coated raw materials formed from aluminium, steel, and high-strength steel.
The REN nut also features a large flange and a series of underhead ribs that bite into the base material for additional torque resistance. REN nuts can be inserted automatically in pressed components or in a secondary operation into pre-pierced holes to provide vibration-resistant watertight fixings with an under flush finish at the rear of the panel.
