With the introduction of the new Big Mill 3000 series, Chiron says that it is offering a new perspective in the HSK100/SK50-class for heavy cutting of large workpieces. The replacement for the FZ 28, the Big Mill stands out due to reduced changeover times in combination with robust milling properties.

The Big Mill can handle workpieces up to 2,000mm x 800mm x 800mm (X, Y, Z-axis), with a feed rate of 60m/min. Maximum spindle speed is 12,000rpm, with an acceleration rate of up to 7m/ sec. Milling capacity can reach 1,500cm3/min. Tool change times are approximately two seconds, with chip-to-chip times of approximately 2.9 seconds.  www.chiron.de
