Can-Eng Furnace’s Basketless Heat Treating System (BHTS) offers the latest technology available to manufacturers of aluminum intensive automobile components requiring thermal processing. The modernised rotary hearth furnace integrates multiple levels as a means of increasing the system capacity. In addition, rapid heating technology reduces the cycle time for processing, while providing equal or greater properties.

This patent pending rotary hearth design can be orientated to accomplish both the solution treatment and artifi cial aging processes. A major advantage of this arrangement is that individual aluminum products can be placed into the rotary systems, thus eliminating any need for part conveying baskets. A robotic or gantry handling system transfers the product from the charging table and into one of the various solution furnace levels. The elimination of baskets reduces capital and operating costs and also reduces energy consumption required to process product. The BHTS design results in a more compact footprint with signifi cantly less maintenance requirements. Options exist for unique system layouts, which can be integrated into lean manufacturing cells.
