Mapal says it is presenting a new series of cutting materials for ISO indexable inserts, as well as “press-to-size” inserts for the boring of steel, stainless steel and heat-resistant cast steel. The company claims it has developed optimum coatings on its in-house coating line and also optimised the carbide substrate of the inserts and the edge rounding for machining. Users can opt for PVD- or CVD-coated cutting materials in accordance with the conditions and requirements of the task.
The company says its press-to-size ISO indexable inserts complement the high-precision ground inserts and are suitable for applications with larger permissible tolerances, as is generally the case for roughing.
