Audi and TU DresdenGermany – The two organisations entered into the strategic partnership “with the goal of making further progress with technical innovations” in areas such as lightweight construction and manufacturing technology. The research will take place at the Technical University of Dresden.

As a result of prior co-operation, four doctoral students are already working on Audi projects, including an emissions concept to reduce energy consumption and the assessment of tyre properties. Audi says it also expects to benefit from TU Dresden’s expertise in intelligent multi-material mixes for lightweighting.

Thomas Sigi, board of management member for HR and labour relations director at Audi, added: “We are able to recruit most of the doctoral students after they have gained their doctorate as high potentials for our company, and therefore benefit from their expertise in the longer term.”
