Sweden – The OEM plans to produce a total of 750 of the S60 and V60 models not only for the domestic market but for Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK, the US, Canada and Japan.
The Polestar marks Volvo’s first introduction of an independent partner to the Torslanda production operation. “It is an exciting process as there are many new and unique Polestar components that needs to work seamlessly in the Volvo factory without interrupting the production of other models,” commented Henrik Fries, S/V60 Polestar technical project manager.
Torslanda recently celebrated a half-century of production, having produced 6.8m vehicles since 1964.
