Highlander, TMNAUS – The plant in Indiana will be modernised with new equipment and advanced technologies to make it more competitive and meet growing demand for the Highlander midsize SUV. Capacity will be increased by 40,000 units per year.

The expansion at Princeton, including 400 new jobs, is part of a localisation strategy that will see Toyota investing $10 billion in the US over the next few years.

Princeton started making the third-generation Highlander in 2013. Last year, the plant turned out 400,000 vehicles, the highest in its 20-year history.
