Yamazaki Mazak says it will now offer a swarf management system as part of its ‘Performance Package’ of machine peripherals for machining centres in its VCS range of vertical machine tools.
The Turbo MH series (supplied by LNS Europe) has a built-in scraper bar attached to the hinge belt that continuously runs along the bottom surface of the conveyor frame throughout the machining cycle. The swarf is then lifted onto the top of the conveyor as the belt rotates and is able to exit in the same manner as the larger swarf.
The system also feeds coolant into the machine through a filter box, which is fitted with either 250 or 500 micron filters.
