Germany – As Daimler’s board of management member for Manufacturing and Procurement Mercedes-Benz Cars, Andreas Renschler oversaw the ramp-up for the new S-Class and prepared the company’s plants for the start of C-Class production. Daimler said he is leaving with immediate effect “for personal reasons”.
Renschler is being replaced by Markus Schäfer, who currently holds responsibility for vehicle production planning at Mercedes-Benz Cars. Schäfer has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing and was previously president and CEO of MB USI in Tuscaloosa, US, where the C-Class will be produced for the North American market.
