Qashqai, SunderlandUK – The new generation model is now in full production, with one vehicle built every 61 seconds on the facility’s 24-hour Line 1. Nissan has invested £534m in the development and production of the Qashqai, which involves 224 suppliers in 22 countries.
 
At a ceremony at the plant, Trevor Mann, Nissan’s chief performance officer and executive vice-president, said the Qashqai has “helped our plant in Sunderland to set new standards in productivity and quality”.

The Qashqai is the first production vehicle in Europe to be based on the new Common Module Family (CMF) platform of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
