Brazil – An investment of $40m will add 65,000 sq.m for resin production at the company’s coatings manufacturing facility in Sumare. The resin will be used to produce electrocoat offerings for automotive OEMs and other industrial coatings customers in the region.

Cynthia Niekamp, PPG senior vice-president, automotive coatings, commented: “The expansion of the Sumare facility enables PPG to localise production and demonstrates our long-term commitment to support our customers in this very important region.”

The expansion project will add 30 positions to the existing workforce and is expected to be completed in 2015.
