Canada – With C$1.5m (US$1.3m) from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, the company is upgrading its production line to increase the volume of aluminium engine blocks it delivers to Shanghai General Motors in China. The expansion will create 80 new jobs over the next four years, while retaining almost 200.
“With support from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, and in line with our company strategy of Sustainable Growth through Excellence, we are forging a partnership within China’s growing automotive industry,” said Glenn Byczynski, technical manager, Nemak of Canada Corporation.
Nemak supplies the automotive industry with high-tech aluminium components such as cylinder heads, engine blocks, transmission parts and other structural elements.
