Japan – The model known as Mazda Demio in the domestic market has undergone a full redesign for the first time in seven years and is now rolling off the lines at the OEM’s plant in Yamaguchi, ahead of the sales launch this autumn.
Like the Mazda CX-5, Mazda6 (Atenza) and Mazda3 (Axela), the new model will feature SKYACTIV technology and KODO-Soul of Motion design. Mazda2 will be available with SKYACTIV-D 1.5, a new small-displacement clean diesel engine designed to offer high fuel economy and eco-performance while delivering torque comparable to a 2.5-litre gasoline engine.
