Mazda BT-50Japan – The OEM’s domestic production for the month rose by 6.7% compared with the same period last year, while overseas output surged by 32% owing to growth in the passenger car segment. Mazda attributed the domestic increase to greater production of both passenger and commercial vehicles.

In its home market, Mazda made: 28,584 units of the CX-5 (+13.5%); 24,081 of the Mazda3/Axela (+6.7%); and 12,567 of the Mazda6/Atenza (+2.5%). Abroad, the figures were: 12,366 of the Mazda3 (+286.9%); 8,138 of the Mazda6 (-20.2%) and 4,288 of the BT-50 (-34.3%).

For January to June, domestic production grew by 3.7% and comprised: 158,933 units of the CX-5 (+14.9%); 148,603 of the Mazda3/Axela (+10.6%) and 66,698 of the Mazda6/Atenza (-6.2%). Overseas production for the same period increased by 8.7%: 45,926 units of the Mazda6 (-11.6%); 41,441 of the Mazda3 (+48.9%) and 25,057 of the BT-50 (-31.3%).
