Germany – The UHP tyre will be fitted as original equipment after Hankook was selected by BMW as a supplier for its new model. The tyres will be provided in size 225/50 R 17 W.
The 4-Series Coupe will be the sixth BMW model to be produced with Hankook tyres, after the 1, 3 and 5-Series, plus Mini and the X5. The Ventus S1 evo2 is a high-end, wide-base tyre which features DTM and Kontrol Technology to enhance performance, durability and energy efficiency.
“Supplying tyres to the new 4-Series Coupe marks yet another important milestone for us as it is the first time we are supplying tyres to the BMW Group that not only have been developed in Europe but also are supplied directly from our European factory,” commented Ho-Youl Pae, member of the board and COO at Hankook Tire Europe.
Hankook employs 50 engineers and technicians at its Technical Center in Hanover, Germany, to develop products for European car manufacturers. The testing and development of tyres supplied to BMW takes place at this location; production occurs in Racalmas, Hungary.
