China/South Korea – Great Wall Motors (GWM) and the automotive parts manufacturer will work closely together in the fields of steering, suspension and braking systems. The two companies have previously collaborated on shock absorber, vacuum booster and rear parking brake assembly for the Great Wall H6 and M4 models.
According to GWM chairman Wei Jianjun, the agreement will be conducive to the implementation of the OEM’s platform strategy, reducing development periods and enhancing product competitiveness through platform orientation. He said that GWM would follow the example of German products to continually improve product quality and succeed by high cost performance, in a bid to bridge the gap between the quality of Chinese and Western brands.
Mando was founded in 1962 and is a subsidiary of South Korea’s Halla Group.
