Paris, France – Renault has announced that Michel Gornet, Executive Vice-President for Manufacturing and Supply Chain, is planning to retire.

His position will be taken over by Gérard LeClercq, currently senior vice-president human resources.

Gornet joined Renault in 1968 at the company’s Billancourt Powertrain Manufacturing Department. He went on to become head of the BIW/Paint department at the Flins plant in 1979, before joining the personnel department in 1983.

He was later appointed general manager of the Billancourt plant in 1986, going on to take the same position at the Sandouville plant in 1989. He has been in his current role since 1994.
