GM Grand RapidsUS – The expenditure on tools and equipment at the OEM’s Grand Rapids operations in Michigan will support the production of future vehicle components. The plant already operates on three shifts with 500 employees but will add 300 personnel.

The factory produces a variety of precision-machined engine parts for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new investment in GM Component Holdings forms part of the OEM’s $5.4 billion pledge for US facilities, with around $3 billion identified to date. The 300 new positions represent almost half the 650 new jobs that are planned for the near future.
