Thailand – Production of the milestone vehicle, a Chevrolet Trailblazer, was celebrated during a visit to the facility by the company’s new CEO, Mary Barra, and president Dan Ammann.
Amman described Rayong as “a key component of our consumer-centric and market-driven strategy for growing our production line-up and Chevrolet brand in the region”.
Rayong opened in 2000 as one of five GM plants built outside North America in the late 1990s, and shipped nearly 44,000 vehicles to 77 countries last year.
