John CasesaUS – An auto analyst and investment banker, John Casesa has been hired to help accelerate the One Ford plan, deliver product excellence and drive innovation across the business. As group vice-president, Global Strategy, he will report to Mark Fields, Ford president and CEO.

The role will involve steering the vehicle-maker’s investments in new products, technologies and business models, supporting a focus on innovation and the Ford Smart Mobility concept.

Ford’s new recruit joins the company from Guggenheim Partners, where as senior managing director he led automotive investment banking activities. Prior to Guggenheim, which he joined in 2010, Casesa spent nearly 20 years at Merrill Lynch and Schroders. He also served General Motors as a product planning analyst.

During two decades of research, Casesa has produced reports including ‘Car Wars’ (1991) and ‘Who makes the car’ (2000).
