US – The $11.5m investment at the company's Ohio facility is aimed at increasing machining capabilities and boosting production capacity and efficiency. AIDA has added both new equipment and floor space.
The company has installed a large-capacity Toshiba BSF-180B computer-numerical-control milling and boring machine that is capable of machining parts up to 12 metres long and 4.5 metres high, and includes a rotary table with a capacity of 130 metric tons.
Other upgrades include the implementation of a 416-pallet automated storage and retrieval system. Floor space has increased by 32,000 sq.ft to a total of 180,000 sq.ft.
