US – The model is available at three trim levels – Sport, Club and Grand – and the first vehicles are expected at dealers imminently, following the April 20 start of production. The first 1,000 cars will be Limited Edition.
Described by its maker as “smaller, lighter and more focused”, the 2016 MX-5 is around 150lbs lighter than its predecessor at 2,332lbs (2,381lbs with an automatic transmission), thanks to its SkyActiv Technology.
