Czech Republic – The milestone vehicle, an Octavia Scout, was produced at the OEM’s main factory at Mladá Boleslav. The third generation was introduced in 2013; since the original launch in 1996, Skoda has made a total of 5m Octavias.
The third-generation Octavia range includes the hatchback and estate in front-wheel or all-wheel drive; the Octavia RS, the fastest yet produced in series; the Octavia G-TEC with natural-gas drive; the Octavia Scout, which debuted in 2014; and the Octavia L&K. According to Skoda, the Octavia more than any other model “symbolises the brand’s rise over the past two decades”.
The majority of Octavias are manufactured at Mladá Boleslav but others are made in China, Russia, India and Kazakhstan. Worldwide sales last year totalled 432,300, about 11% more than in 2014.
