Cladding_off-axial_YC52_3RESIZEDSystems for industrial laser applications such as cutting, welding and surface processing are well established, reliable and cost efficient due to their wear free highly localised material interaction. ROFIN offers a complete range of high power industrial laser sources including fibre lasers, diode lasers and CO2 Lasers. Together with a dedicated consultancy service for application related lasers, ROFIN partners with end user customers and system manufacturers to ensure excellence.

This webinar covered how to select the most suitable laser technology for specific automotive applications, taking into account the very latest developments and application techniques.

Peter Kallage Todd_Baker

Peter studied mechanical engineering at the University of Hanover, Germany. His first job was as a researcher in 2005 at the Hanover Laser Center, specializing in joining technology. In 2007, he was promoted to Division Manager and became head of the “Metal joining and cutting” Group. Since October 2010 he has been responsible for the applications lab ROFIN Macro Division’s headquarters.

Wolfram Rath Philippe_Baudon

Wolfram studied physics at Heidelberg and Erlangen (Nürnberg) Universities. He has worked with Siemens in CO2, laser and excimer laser development and applications before taking responsiblility for ROFIN-Sinar’s applications lab in Hamburg. Since 2011 he has been responsible for ROFIN Macro laser sources.

About ROFIN

Light, when used as a manufacturing tool, is fascinating; it offers a virtually infinite potential of applications in materials processing. Whether CO2, solid-state, fiber or diode lasers, ROFIN provides all of the decisive key technologies and covers the entire spectrum of industrial lasers. The product portfolio ranges from industry standard laser beam sources to compact all-in-one system solutions – we offer the optimal solution for almost every application task.

The application areas for ROFIN lasers are as broad as our product range. ROFIN lasers are used for production in automotive industry, aircraft construction, machine tool industry, manufacturing of electronics and semiconductors, in photovoltaics and also in jewelry design as well as medical device technology. Whether it is the use of high-power lasers in harsh industrial environments, filigree laser applications in the µm-range or the laser marking on different materials – ROFIN optimally meets all customer requirements in the field of laser technology.
