Metallform has developed and produced a range of efficient component cleaning and transport baskets. The company says it has designed a workpiece holder that minimises transfer processes while ensuring efficient cleaning processes, reducing parts handling and the risk of component damage and re-contamination.
The workpiece holders can be adapted to the requirements of both manual and automated assembly. Flexible solutions including a universal base frame and interchangeable, part-specific inserts allow the workpiece holders to be adapted to accommodate parts of varying sizes, claims Metallform. This offers the advantage that if the range of parts changes then only the inserts, which are adapted to the workpiece geometry, need to be replaced.
