Japan – Mazda’s new Mexican engine machining factory will produce around 230,000 engines per year from October 2014.

Construction of the buildings which will house the vehicle and engine assembly lines, is complete and operations should start in the fourth quarter of fiscal year ending March 2014.

By localising production and increasing the number parts procured locally, Mazda says it will enhance its ability to withstand exchange rate fluctuations.
