Japan – Some 30 years after vehicle manufacturing first began at the Hofu Plant No.1, total production has passed 10m vehicles. Full-scale production at Plant No. 1 started in September 1982.

Plant No.2 began operating in February 1992 with a flexibleproduction capability for vehicle bodies and modular assembly systems on a mixed-model assembly line.

Today, the two plants have a combined annual production capacity of 482,100 units. Currently, Plant No.1 produces the all-new Mazda3 and Hofu Plant No.2 makes the all-new Mazda6.
