Festo says its DFPI combines the functions of a linear actuator, a positioner and displacement encoder in one unit.

The company claims the DFPI solution is suitable for controlling knife gate valves and shut-off valves with regulated strokes and for use with all linear-actuated process valves, and incorporates IP65, IP67 and IP69k protection to withstand harsh environments with moisture and dust. It also has a high corrosion resistance class of CRC3.

It is available in a variety of diameters (100mm, 125mm, 160mm, 200mm, 250mm and 320mm) and strokes from 40mm up to 990mm. Special designs above 990mm stroke are also available on request.
