Japan – The brand says it has already taken 6,500 orders for the crossover vehicle in its domestic market, and 350 from the UK. Deliveries will commence in October.
The Miyata plant has responsibility for finished vehicle manufacturing but the new Lexus has also boosted production at the nearby Kanda engine plant, where one of two lines was closed after the global recession of 2008. The second line has now been reopened, making the new 2.0-litre petrol turbo unit for the NX 200t variant.
