Russelsheim, Germany – GM has announced that Nick Reilly, President of GM Europe, is to retire in March 2012. He has been succeeded by Karl Stracke, who took control of the company on January 1. Stracke will continue to act as CEO of Opel/Vauxhall, while also joining the GM Executive Operations Committee.

Over his 37-year career at GM, Reilly, 61, held senior positions in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Stracke, who is 55, took over as CEO of Opel/ Vauxhall in March 2011. He was previously vice-president of GM Global Engineering, based in Detroit, Michigan.
