Tony FrancavillaUS – As vice-president, Global Quality, Tony Francavilla will report to Mary Barra, chairman and CEO. His appointment is effective immediately.

“Tony’s diverse technical expertise and global leadership experience position him well to further accelerate GM’s progress in every aspect of vehicle quality,” commented Barra. The company’s new head of quality has experience across manufacturing, engineering and supplier quality.

Francavilla previously served in a range of roles within GM’s Quality division, including executive director of global supplier quality. Before that, he led the manufacturing operations at the Lansing Grand River and Flint Truck plants.

Beginning his career with the company in 1979 as a co-op student at GM Canada in St Catherines, Francavilla subsequently built up leadership experience including manufacturing management for a major pick-up truck launch, plant management at Ellesmere Port, UK, and Gilwice, Poland, and a stint as managing director of GM Poland.
