Rhenus Lub has developed an EP coolant for cutting operations on titanium, aluminium, aluminium alloys (silumin) and most hard steel qualities and special materials.
Rhenus FU 60 is mineral oil-free and water-miscible, formulated on the basis of synthetic greases and with no additional armines or boric acid. Rhenus says it combines industrial health and safety standards with high technical performance, also ensuring long tool life and saving costs.
Since the coolant is free from additives such as chlorine, nitrate and mineral oil and has a low pH value, it boasts good skin compatibility and is categorised as water hazard class 1, says the company.
The lubricant is already used in aerospace.
