UK – The Louth-based plastics compounder and recycler appointed Christel Croft as project manager, leading research initiatives at its Technical Centre. Croft joins the company from BP, where she was most recently planning and performance manager at the Hull Research and Technology Centre.
Croft will be responsible for the delivery of a €1.4m ($1.6m) ‘Eco innovation’ initiative co-funded by the EU. Luxus is the lead partner in the Recyclite research project which aims to commercialise lightweight polypropylene products with recycled content, known as Hycolene; the range is suitable for class A automotive interior trim. The other partners are Jaguar Land Rover, Coperion and moulding supplier IAC.
“I hope to bring a fresh approach to the Luxus technical team gained from my commercial experience introducing new products and services into the chemicals industry which I’m sure will greatly assist the Hycolene range in becoming a commercial success with Europe’s premium automotive sector,” commented Croft.
