The ROMER Absolute Arm Compact offers a high-accuracy shop-floor solution for small to medium parts claims Hexagon Metrology. The company says the system offers high-tolerance 3D measurement in a 1.2 metre volume for use even in confined spaces. A counterweight system enables use without mountings and Hexagon says the absolute encoders mean no referencing is required so it can be placed on any surface and switched on ready to measure.
It is available in two models and can be certified to ISO 10360-2 or B89.4.22. Features include automatic probe recognition to ensure repeatable results for different probes without calibration and haptic feedback to alert users if an axis limit is reached.
