Pierburg compact exhaust-gas recirculation (EGR) valvePierburg says its new compact exhaust-gas recirculation (EGR) valve is designed for low-pressure applications and offers a space saving layout combined with an indirect DC-motor.

Although this EGR valve has been developed for use with car diesel engines the company claims it can also be used on gasoline engines.

Featuring what the company calls a ‘sandwich construction’ the design is claimed to offer some flexibility in installation with it being possible for the interfaces for the electrical connection and the flange geometry to be adapted to customer specifications.

Options on this valve, which comes with integrated fail-safe functionality and contactless position feedback, are water-cooling and double-sided bearing of the regulating flap.
