The Deuce range of vices from 5th Axis’ feature dovetail technology, says supplier YMT Technologies, which it’s claimed offers secure and reliable workholding. The new Deuce vice comes in two sizes, the DV56 which clamps parts up to 152mm and the DV510 which clamps parts up to 254mm. Both vices have a clamping force up to 4,000lbs and a jaw length of 127mm.
The company says that the vices are fitted with a removable centre jaw, allowing the clamping of four components simultaneously. Jaws can also be reversed for extra capacity and options include double station soft jaws. Multiple vices can be located on the machine table or on a tombstone to maximise machine capacity.
