Mapal says it now offers its Tool Management services based on the c-Com platform. It’s claimed this system offers accurate inventory and tracking usage data and reduces downtime due to issues such as missing tools, data trawls, restarts and tool selection. The company says this system is features a modular construction allowing it to be adapted to meet the customers’ individual requirements; the basic Tool Management platform offered is offered with twelve individual services that can be specifically configured for a customer’s particular production site.
According to Mapal technology transfer is also made easier. Process parameters such as tool life and cutting values are managed at a central location and can be accessed by the customer’s manufacturing and planning departments, for example. This exchange can occur within a specific plant or across several sites.
