Japan – The OEM released output figures for May showing a decrease of 2.5% year-on-year to 65,309 units. Production outside Japan was relatively stable, rising just 0.9% to 370,000 units, but enabled Nissan to claim a record for May, and its 13th consecutive monthly increase.
Global production totalled 435,938 units (+0.4%), another record for May, and the fourth consecutive monthly increase. Output in the different regions was as follows:
US: 80,439 units (-3.9%)Mexico: 69,721 units (-0.8%)UK: 43,175 units (+12.1%)Spain: 11,877 units (+11.2%)China: 100,122 units (-0.8%)Other regions: 65,295 units (+3.2%).
Exports from Japan rose by 19.5% year-on-year to 41,321 units, the first increase in half a year.
