Nissan CantonUS – The 2016 Nissan Titan XD full-size pick-up truck, powered by Cummins technology, will go on sale in late 2015. Job one at the Mississippi plant was a Forged Copper Platinum Reserve model.

“It has been a long, hard journey getting to today,” said José Muñoz, executive vice-president, Nissan Motor Company, expressing his appreciation for the truck’s planning, design, engineering, testing and manufacturing teams across America.

“Nissan enters 2016 not only with a reinvigorated product line-up, but also with tremendous momentum in terms of sales and share gains,” added Muñoz. “And one of the key reasons for our success is our dedication to building the vehicles we sell in North America here in North America – with 85% sold here, built here.”

Covering 4.2m sq.m and employing 6,000 personnel, Canton opened in May 2003 and has since turned out more than 3m vehicles. In addition to the Titan, its production line-up includes: the Altima, Armada, Frontier, NV Cargo Van, NV Passenger Van and Murano. The facility manufactured the first Titan of the original model.
