Siemens expands motor portfolio for machine toolsSiemens has launched a number of servomotors for use in machine tools. Covering a wide range of applications and offering high torques, the new developments include the Simotics S-1FT7 compact synchronous servomotor with shaft height 132 as well as the Simotics S-1FG1 servo geared motor, which is available in a variety of models.

The naturally cooled Simotics S-1FT7 servomotor with shaft height 132 features a higher torque and consumes less power than previous models claims the company. The servomotor provides 90 to 170Nm of torque depending on its construction length, making it suitable for large machine tools.

With the S-1FG1 servo geared motors, four types of gears and different transmission ratios enable users to select the ideal configuration to meet their needs.
