Jens LudmannUK – Jens Ludmann has been appointed as chief operating officer (COO), the role last occupied by Mike Flewitt, who is now CEO. It had been latent since July 2013, when Flewitt stepped up to his current position.

McLaren is in the second year of its Track22 business plan to improve internal working processes, relationships and disciplines. Ludmann’s duties will cover Product Development, Purchasing, Supplier Quality Assurance and Manufacturing. He will oversee the launch of 14 new models or derivatives in the next five years.

Ludmann previously worked as chief engineer, Product Development at Ford; chief technical officer at Qoros Auto; and, most recently, executive vice-president of global engineering service provider FEV.

Mike Flewitt took the COO in June 2012.
