Previously at Ford, Volkswagen, and Hyundai, he drove MES launches globally across greenfield and brownfield sites. His strengths include MES architecture, integration, automation, stakeholder coordination, mentoring, and managing complex manufacturing rollouts across global operations.

Adam Polcha

Adam Polcha is Manager of the Manufacturing Development Center at Daimler Truck North America, where he works at the intersection of product development, manufacturing strategy and factory execution. He represents manufacturing throughout product development, helping evaluate major vehicle programs, guide launch readiness decisions, and ensure manufacturing considerations are incorporated into key program milestones.

In addition to leading DTNA's design-for-manufacturing and production-oriented design processes, Adam is responsible for corporate manufacturing capital planning and supports manufacturing investment strategy across DTNA's North American operations. His work focuses on reducing launch complexity, improving buildability, and creating stronger feedback loops between engineering, manufacturing engineering and operations teams.

Trent Randles is an Engineering Manager at BorgWarner, where he leads multidisciplinary teams responsible for Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Training. He’s also leading the Borgwarner Americas Region - Digitalization Team, leading efforts to shape and accelerate smart manufacturing initiatives across the United States and Mexico.

Over a 22-year career in the automotive industry, Trent has progressed from working as an automotive technician at Ford and General Motor dealerships to leading engineering and operational excellence teams for global Tier 1 suppliers, including Plastic Omnium, Magna Seating USA, and Borgwarner. His experience spans manufacturing engineering in operations, product and process design for manufacturing, new product launch management, and continuous improvement / engineering / digital transformation leadership.

Passionate about driving improvements in manufacturing systems, Trent has led and supported numerous smart manufacturing initiatives involving industrial automation, data-driven production systems, and AI analytical systems. His work focuses on helping his organization bridge the gap between traditional operations and smart manufacturing by aligning people, processes, and technology to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.

In addition to his leadership responsibilities at BorgWarner, Trent serves on the External Advisory Board for Clemson University's International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR), helping strengthen collaboration between industry and academia while supporting the development of future engineering talent. He is a CESMII Smart Manufacturing Acceleration Roadmap Professional and you can find him at conferences throughout the year, sharing practical strategies for digital transformation, operational excellence, and building flexible, future-ready production systems.
