The automotive industry has always been one of the driving forces behind innovative laser applications.

In this webinar, we will explain how to select the most suitable laser for specific automotive manufacturing-related applications using latest laser technology and application techniques.

We shall look at examples from the entire spectrum of high power industrial laser sources, such as fibre, diode and CO2, and we shall also discuss the importance of the partnership between end customers and system manufacturers, in areas such as training, application trials and local support.

Peter Kallagedr_peter_kallage

Peter Kallage studied mechanical engineering at the University of Hanover, Germany, and took his first job in 2005 as a researcher at the Hanover Laser Center, specialising in the field of joining technology. In 2007, he was promoted to division manager and became head of the metal-joining and cutting group. Since October 2010, Peter has been responsible for the applications lab at the headquarters of Rofin’s macro division.

Wolfram Rathdr_wolfram_rath

Wolfram Rath studied physics at the universities of Heidelberg and Erlangen-Nuremberg and holds a doctorate degree. He worked with Siemens in CO2 laser and excimer laser development and applications before joining Rofin-Sinar’s applications lab in Hamburg for macro applications. Since 2011 he has been responsible for product management of all Rofin macro laser sources.

About Rofin

Rofin provides all of the key technologies in the spectrum of high-power lasers for harsh industrial environments, filigree laser applications in the µm-range or the laser marking on different materials. The product portfolio ranges from industry standard laser beam sources to compact all-in-one system solutions. As well as the automotive industry, Rofin lasers are used in aircraft construction, machine tool industry, electronics manufacturing, photovoltaics and medical device technology.
