UK – Joining Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) after 25 years in various manufacturing industry roles, Archie MacPherson will become CEO of the WMG centre High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult. He will also represent WMG on the Catapult management board.
MacPherson has previously worked for IBM, ICL, Lucas Industries and Mettis Group, serving the automotive, aerospace, defence, energy and rail industries. He is also a founding member of the Advanced Forming Research Centre at the University of Strathclyde, and its CEO from 2012 to 2016. MacPherson has held board positions with the Aluminium Federation and other organisations.
The WMG centre focuses on collaborative R&D in low-carbon mobility, with expertise in lightweight materials, advanced propulsion systems and intelligent mobility. Its work helps companies to improve their products, process and technologies.
