Skoda SuperbCzech Republic – The milestone vehicle rolled off the production line at Kvasiny, just a few months before the market launch of the third generation of the model. The Skoda Superb has been the brand’s flagship car since 2001.

Winfried Vahland, Skoda’s CEO, claimed the Superb has been “synonymous with the highest quality from the Czech Republic for the last 14 years” and that this success will provide a basis for entering “a new era” with the third generation, which will feature MQB technology from Volkswagen.

Skoda has invested at its Kvasiny plant for production of the latest Superb, including new technologies and assembly and logistics areas. The bodyshop alone has received 1.7 billion CZK ($67m). By 2018, the carmaker will have invested around 7.2 billion, boosting the workforce by 1,300 personnel and increasing capacity to around 280,000 units per year.

Additionally, Skoda will launch production of the Superb in China during 2015.
