3.6-litre PentastarUS – Available in three displacements, the engine is regarded as a workhorse for FCA; since the start of the year, 47% of the company’s vehicles have been sold with a Pentastar V-6. The milestone unit was produced earlier this month.

The 3.6-litre and 3.2-litre displacements power the Jeep Cherokee, while the 3.0-litre version is used for the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler and Chrysler 300 sold in China.

The engines are manufactured at three FCA facilities: Trenton Engine Complex in Michigan, US (3.6-litre, 3.2-litre, 3.0-litre); Saltillo South Engine Plant in Saltillo, Mexico (3.6-litre); and Mack Avenue Engine Plant, Michigan (3.6-litre, 3.2-litre).

The Pentastar V-6 engine was introduced in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee; today it is available in 14 vehicles from the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram brands.
