Japan – The two companies have reached a basic agreement which will see Isuzu making pick-ups based on its own vehicles, on behalf of Mazda. The deal is aimed at increasing Isuzu’s product competitiveness and strengthening Mazda’s line-up while allowing it to maintain own-brand market coverage.

Mazda and Isuzu have had a collaboration for more than ten years, with the latter producing the former’s trucks for the Japanese market. In the latest agreement, the Mazda pick-ups will be made for sale in global markets with the exception of North America. The sales launch has yet to be confirmed.
