As a worldwide leader in thermoplastic materials, Multibase, a subsidiary of Dow Corning Corporation, has, over the past 20 years, gained important know-how to help make vehicles safe, comfortable, fuel efficient and environmentally sustainable. Global presence and capabilities: Multibase has four production sites in Saint Laurent du Pont, France (headquarters); Copley, Ohio USA; Daman, India; and Japan. All four locations have ISO certifications.

Product line:

Multibase offers three technical platforms ranging from:

1- Rigid compounds: The Multipro range (10-40% Talc or calcium carbonate filled PP), offers natural or moulded-in colour filled compounds with excellent UV and heat resistance as well as dimensional stability for structural automotive parts.

2- Masterbatches known under the trade names Multibatch (40- 70% Talc or calcium carbonate PP masterbatches to be diluted into virgin PP resin) and Dow Corning MB (Siloxane Masterbatches incorporating 25-50% ultra high molecular weight siloxane into various thermoplastic base carriers). The new generation Multibatch PP- μTalc provides many new and innovative solutions for part designs as well as weight reduction for automotive structural parts (door and instrument panels, bumpers...)

3- Thermoplastic Elastomers known under the trade name Multiflex. Multibase has a wide range of thermoplastic elastomer materials to meet diverse automotive requirements:

- Interior comfort and aesthetics:
Solutions ranging from SEBS compounds to siloxane based compounds Multiflex SiE and TPSiV providing with the best balance cost versus performance to improve functionality, ergonomics, as well as visual and tactile characteristics for interior applications.

- Weather and thermal insulation:

Innovative solutions
ranging from SEBS materials, to super-TPV compounds providing with the best balance between cost versus performance in terms of compression set at room temperature but also 80, 120 up to 150 deg C. This product line meets most sealing requirements whether static, semidynamic or dynamic seals for body or under the bonnet seals as well as glazing seals.
